We’re excited to announce that the Queues app is now available in the GCC High and DoD clouds. This Teams-native app helps organizations manage customer engagements more efficiently by bringing advanced call queue and auto attendant capabilities directly into Teams. Microsoft Teams: Automatic recording and transcription for Teams Call Queues

Administrators can enable automatic recording and transcription for Teams call queues. When enabled, calls answered by calling representatives are automatically recorded without manual action. Admins configure the feature per queue via Teams admin center or PowerShell, with controls for recording, transcription and agent access to recordings. Recordings are stored in SharePoint and available through the Queues app call history. Note: Queues app requires a Teams Premium license.

Microsoft Teams: New layout when sharing content for Teams events

Organizers and presenters who have access to production tools will see updated layout options when sharing content in the "Manage what attendees see" experience for Teams events. The available layouts are "Speaker focused", "Content focused", and "Content only". The new Speaker focused layout prioritizes presenter video alongside shared content for greater visibility. This feature is available for Teams events organizers with a Teams Enterprise license. This feature is available on Teams for Windows desktop and Mac desktop.

Organizers and presenters who have access to production tools can now upload custom backgrounds in the "Manage what attendees see" experience for Teams events. This enhancement allows organizations to display their brand identity by replacing the default backgrounds with their own images, such as company logos, event-specific artwork, or themed visuals. Custom backgrounds appear behind presenters and content, giving attendees a polished viewing experience. This feature is available for Teams events organizers with a Teams Premium license. This feature is available on Teams for Windows desktop and Mac desktop.

Microsoft Teams: Enhanced bookable desk experience with Teams panel-based desk dock devices

Users have better experiences in flexible work environments with Microsoft Teams panel-based desk dock devices coming later this year. The Teams panel app now enables devices, such as the Yealink Linkhub, to enhance bookable desk experiences by indicating at-a-glance availability and letting visitors book directly on the device. Each device requires a Teams Shared Space license.

Available for M365 users without a M365 Copilot license. From Chat, you can use natural language to generate and direct edits to new and existing documents, when in an Edit mode. In this mode, Copilot will ask clarifying questions if needed, and after making changes will recap actions take and recommended next steps. Changes to the document are supported with controls in the document canvas to review changes made.

You can also chat directly with Copilot to prepare more deeply, to ensure you're ready to go. This feature is already available in the new Outlook for Windows, Web, Mac, and Mobile and is now being adding to classic Outlook for Windows. The new page in the Pro Management portal provides proactive recommendations based on your organization’s environment and upcoming events that can impact devices, such as support or certification expirations. Admins are prompted to update device and account data enabling rich insights from the portal, and guidance based on space and device usage data is coming soon. This feature helps admins maintain smooth operations and plan and budget efficiently. At least one Teams Rooms Pro or Teams Shared Devices license is required for access.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat Copilot is available at no additional cost for Microsoft 365 DOD users who sign in with their Microsoft Entra account (no Microsoft 365 Copilot license required). Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat offers enterprise data protection (EDP), and secure AI chat designed for work, powered by the latest large language models with optional web grounding. The general availability of this release will be delivered to the users with web grounding OFF by default to meet US Government requirements. This will help protect sensitive information which should not leave the DOD compliance boundary.

The new shared spaces insights page in the Pro Management portal provides IT with customized utilization insights, including time-series data visualizations, for shared spaces beginning with Teams Rooms. The feature uses calendar data and occupancy signals from Teams Rooms to track usage with filters for location, business hours, days of the week, and date ranges making it easy to see how spaces are being used. Future updates will include desk and BYOD room spaces. Available with a Teams Rooms Pro license.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Modern eDiscovery additional enhancements

We are introducing a new set of enhancements to the modernized eDiscovery user interface aimed at improving both functionality and user experience. These updates include the ability to delete searches and direct exports; bulk add data sources and populate the custodian field for items in review sets and exports. We are also rolling out a tenant-level premium feature toggle to provide greater administrative control. Additionally, users will benefit from a new analytics process report and improvements to the search condition builder, which now supports logical operators such as AND, OR, and NEAR for more precise and flexible keyword queries, along with country and language selection for the query. The ability to configure the maximum export package size, with an updated default value to better support large-scale exports is also included.

Microsoft Teams: New Voice Applications Settings for Authorized Users in GCC High and DoD (Premium)

Voice applications policies allow you to create and assign voice application policies to authorized users. Voice application policies control what configuration changes an authorized user can make to the auto attendants and call queues they're authorized for. Authorized users, with permissions from Teams admins, can configure their call queues and auto attendants using Teams settings and opt in or out their team members to optimize for business needs. This is a Teams Premium feature.

Organizers can now create and share polls directly within Teams Town halls, gathering real-time feedback from participants through multiple-choice questions and other types of polls. This feature is available for town hall organizers that have an active Teams Premium license.

Microsoft Purview Compliance Portal: Data Compliance to support Generative AI Applications

Detection, processing and storage of interactions done on Enterprise AI and AI applications such as Security Copilot, Copilot Studio and others under Microsoft Purview Data Compliance solutions including Data Lifecycle Management, eDiscovery, and Communication Compliance will begin using a pay-as-you-go pricing model on May 1 in preparation for general availability. Microsoft Purview Audit will only use pay-as-you-go pricing for audit logs related to non-Microsoft Enterprise AI and AI applications. Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat data (with or without a Copilot license) will not be impacted by these new pay-as-you-go meters. Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance provides the tools to help organizations detect regulatory compliance violations (for example SEC or FINRA), such as sensitive or confidential information, harassing or threatening language, and sharing of adult content. Built with privacy by design, usernames are pseudonymized by default, role-based access controls are built in, investigators are opted in by an admin, and audit logs are in place to ensure user-level privacy.

Users can now interact with an instance of a live streaming town hall instance in the same way they would a recorded piece of content when viewing via iOS and Android. DVR functionality in town hall enables event attendees to pause and move forward or back within a town hall, navigate to any previously-streamed timestamp, and other abilities that make interacting with a town hall more convenient and makes it easier to digest the content being presented. This feature is available for all town halls regardless of the license assigned to the organizers.

With room and desk peripheral support expanded to include docking stations and webcams, Teams users can seamlessly connect and utilize audio and video peripherals for enhanced experiences in bring your own device (BYOD) spaces. IT admins can benefit from automatic association of devices to a space, device inventory, and detailed reports for peripherals in the Pro Management portal. Reports in the Pro Management portal require a Teams Shared Devices license for the room, and reports for desks are in public preview.

Microsoft Teams: Ultra-low latency (ULL) attendee experience for Teams Town hall

With Ultra-low latency, attendees will now be able to view and participate in a town hall instance at a much lower latency than before, ensuring they are in sync with content being shared by presenters and organizers. This update significantly improves the attendee experience compared to the typical 20-30 second delay experienced in the past. This feature is available for town hall organizers with a Teams Premium license.

Microsoft Teams: Townhall concurrent attendees increase to 100,000

Organizers of town hall instances can now reach wider audience in a single event with an expansion to a maximum of 100,000 simultaneous attendees. This increase serves as a significant jump from the previous attendee cap of 50,000 for organizers with a Teams Premium license. The quality and stability of town halls up to this new limit will remain constant, providing high-quality and reliable content to participants. For events with more than 20,000 concurrent attendees, some interactivity features are disabled for all attendees. Organizations can get support for audiences up to 100,000 concurrent attendees by selecting the Max Capacity limit to be as high as desired up to 100,000. Reaching out to the Microsoft 365 Live Event Assistance Program (LEAP) for assistance (Microsoft 365 Live Event Assistance Program – Microsoft Adoption) is recommended for every event. This feature is available for town hall organizers that have an active Teams Premium license.

Microsoft Teams: Users can view app ratings before installing apps or agents

We have improved user options for sharing a link for a Teams app or a Microsoft 365 Copilot agent in a chat. Links to apps and agents will have a new preview card with user ratings for users to consider before installing apps or agents in Teams and clear actions like Add (which installs the app or agent) and View detail. A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is not required to share Copilot agent links but may be required to install and use the agent.

The License Usage page in the Microsoft Entra admin center helps customers optimize their Entra licenses by providing visibility into feature usage across their tenant. It shows how many Entra ID P1, P2, and Suite licenses you own, along with usage of key features such as Conditional Access and risk‑based Conditional Access mapped to each license type. You can also review usage trends over the past six months. This view gives you a clearer understanding of your license footprint, the value you’r
