Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): People Skills- removal and deletion admin control

A new admin control in the People Skills settings lets administrators permanently remove their organization's People Skills data from the tenant. With this new control, organizations can delete their entire skills library along with all users confirmed, inferred, and imported skills data—giving them full control to offboard from People Skills in support of data governance and compliance needs. Once deletion is initiated, skills will no longer appear on user profile cards or be used across Microsoft 365 skills-based experiences such as Copilot and Viva. The control is admin-only with no automatic changes.

In developmentMicrosoft Teams

Microsoft Teams: Improved request flows for apps and agents blocked by admins

We are improving how users request access to apps and agents blocked by admins in Teams by introducing a clear, guided, and end-to-end request experience. This work reduces end-user friction by driving clarity into the request process and notifying users when there's been an update to their request. In addition to enhancements in Teams, we've also improved the admin experience in Teams Admin Center, to simplify the process for admins to review requests and take action. Additionally, we're introducing a new capability to increase admin awareness of new requests, ensuring that user requests don't get stalled.

Admins can control availability to this feature using the M365AuthPopupsInWorkEnabled policy.

In developmentMicrosoft Edge

Microsoft Edge: Work Search Banner for Google

When a user performs a search on google.com from a work profile, Microsoft Edge can detect whether organization-specific results are available for that query. When relevant results are found, a banner is shown with a link to explore those work results with Microsoft 365 Copilot. This builds on the existing experience already available on Bing and extends it to Google, helping users seamlessly access work-related information regardless of their search engine. Admins can control access to this feature using the EdgeWorkSearchBannerEnabled policy.

In developmentMicrosoft Teams

Microsoft is announcing the General Availability (GA) of federated Copilot connectors for Microsoft 365 Copilot. Federated Copilot connectors enable users to securely connect Copilot to popular third‑party sources and retrieve data in real time using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). These connectors do not store or index customer data in Microsoft services; access occurs in real time using the user’s identity, while administrators retain full governance and control through the Microsoft 365 admin center. With GA, federated Copilot connectors will be supported in Researcher agent, Microsoft 365 Chat, and Agent Mode in Excel, enabling users to bring external data directly into their workflows.

Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Submit agent to Agent Store from Agent Builder

Customers can submit their custom Copilot agents built in Agent Builder to the Agent Store under the "Built by your org" section, after admin review and approval in M365 Admin Center. This control will be available to tenants with Copilot licenses.

Rolling outMicrosoft Entra

Microsoft Entra: App Deactivation

Admins or app owners can now safely pause an app’s access to Entra protected resources without deleting it or disrupting configuration. When deactivated, the app and its service principals globally (across tenants) can’t request new tokens and user sign ins are blocked, while existing tokens simply expire on their normal schedule. This makes it easy for admins to temporarily freeze suspicious or unused apps during investigations, bulk cleanup, or tenant hygiene work. This capability is now available in the Entra admin center (App registrations, Enterprise apps) and Microsoft Graph API.

LaunchedMicrosoft Edge

Microsoft Edge: v.148 - Password affiliation service

Password autofill suggestions in Edge are currently based on top-level domain matching, which means the same credentials can be suggested on sites like account.microsoft.com and office.microsoft.com. With this feature, Edge groups related domains together across various desktop and mobile properties called affiliations. When a customer visits a URL, the Edge client will query the affiliations backend to obtain “affiliated groups” for that URL. The process involves sending a hash of the visited URLs to the service, which then returns a list of affiliated URLs and ensures that the relevant credentials will be displayed in the autofill suggestions across affiliated domains. Admins can control access to this feature using the PasswordManagerEnabled policy.

Microsoft Viva: Viva Glint admin can enable Copilot for the Company admin user role

Act before July CY2025 · overdue

Viva Glint's Company Admin role currently prevents editing of any role permissions, including feature controls for survey program reporting. While this restriction helps prevent accidental disruption of critical admin capabilities, it has emerged as a significant barrier to Copilot adoption. Customers must create and maintain redundant custom roles solely to enable Copilot access for Company Admin users, adding unnecessary complexity to deployment and ongoing management. This feature update will allow Company Admins to enable Copilot for themselves at the Viva Glint client user role level via a new toggle in General Settings. This enables Copilot across all eligible recurring and ad-hoc survey programs without altering the permissions architecture of the Company Admin role at the program level. All existing Company Admin user role permissions remain locked to preserve critical admin safeguards. This targeted change preserves essential admin role safeguards while removing a key friction point in Copilot deployment.
