We are introducing a new Power Automate action that enables automated document generation using document generation (DocGen) forms in SharePoint. Generate document from form (Preview) allows customers to create documents from a template by mapping data inputs to predefined template fields. Documents are generated as part of an automated flow and stored in SharePoint. This capability supports scenarios such as creating contracts, invoices, letters, or reports using structured templates and form-driven inputs. The action works by mapping input data to template fields and returns the generated document along with file metadata such as location and status.
We are introducing new Power Automate integration capabilities for forms in SharePoint, enabling customers to create automated workflows based on responses collected using list forms, file upload forms, and document generation forms. With this update, a new trigger and action are now available in Power Automate: Trigger: When a form is submitted This operation triggers a flow when a list form, document generation form, or file upload form is submitted. Customers can use this trigger to initiate automated workflows such as approvals, notifications, or routing based on form submission events. Action: Get form metadata This action retrieves the metadata of a form, which includes the form ID, title, link, form type, output format, and the form questions used to collect information. This enables Power Automate flows to dynamically read form schema before executing downstream automation logic. Disclaimer: Document generation forms are part of AI in SharePoint Public Preview. Access to DocGen Forms capabilities may be limited to customers enrolled in the preview program. List forms and file upload forms are not part of the AI in SharePoint preview.
A single group with broad membership or a special group for vendors etc. - can expose sensitive content to unintended recipients. With this new report, SharePoint admins can now see every site a group can access and the extent of that access.
The new report provides SharePoint Advanced Management admins complete item level details of permissions granted to Everyone except external user and Everyone special SharePoint groups.

When you’re working in a document library, we’ve brought custom views and filters front and center – just like in OneDrive. We’ve also redesigned the command bar to help you take action, faster. All your view customization tools are now grouped under one simplified menu, making it easy to apply conditional formatting or organize items by metadata in seconds.
The News page renders news items in a given site. It is typically accessed via the "see all" experience of a news web part. We are updating the user experience of this page and bringing in Copilot capabilities to licensed users. Updated February 9, 2026: GA rollout for this item is starting in late February. SharePoint eSignature users would be able to add custom free text fields to their request documents. This new eSignature field can be used to request information (such as address, full name, etc.) from signers.
Microsoft's native eSignature service allows users to request simple electronic signatures from Word & PDF documents in SharePoint. Recipients can easily sign documents without the documents leaving the trusted boundaries of Microsoft. This capability will be now be available in all markets with the exception of China, Indonesia and Türkiye.
Sections with Copilot is a new SharePoint authoring tool that allows users to create full-fidelity SharePoint sections with just a prompt. It works by first looking at the context of your page to offer prompt suggestions for what content you need next to offer a starting point. Next, you either select one of those starting points or write your own and optionally ground in a relevant file. Once you click generate, Sections with Copilot then leverages the knowledge and content already inside of your organization and on your page to create rich sections that go beyond just image and text. This could mean meeting transcripts, recent documents, or any other knowledge Copilot has access to, added to an existing page with a click of a button. If the output section isn't quite right, you can then use AI refinement to make changes to both the content and layout of your section, without ever touching our traditional authoring tools. Some examples include "change the background image", "add John Smith's contact information", or "make the text more professional". You can also get different suggestions by clicking "regenerate" and then choosing your favorite one to refine further. With Sections with Copilot, you can create content faster than ever before, no matter your SharePoint skill level.
Documents signed via Adobe or DocuSign eSignature, when initiated through the SharePoint eSignature platform, will now be saved in the originating SharePoint folder instead of the default Apps folder. The originating folder is the folder where the starting document was located at the point of eSignature request initiation.
SharePoint is updating the capabilities of its text editor Copilot. Now, you can not only use copilot to rewrite your existing text but also use it to keep writing or add a grounding document. By answering the question "what do you want copilot to change", you can perform any number of refinements to your existing content.
Site attestation policy is the newest addition to the site lifecycle management suite. It is a one-stop solution to ensure your sites are secure and compliant by reducing the risk of unmanaged sites. This involves regular reviews by site owners or admins to check and confirm the accuracy of site information, including the site's necessity, its owners, members, permissions, and sharing settings. You can also choose to automate actions on sites that remain unattested for more than 3 months to prevent risks of content over exposure.
This release will enhance SharePoint page analytics by adding click through rate metric. A new card will show the percentage of unique viewers who clicked on a link from the news post, providing insights into user engagement with the post.

We're expanding file format support for Content AI Document Translation in SharePoint Online. Newly added extensions include: xlf, tsv, tab, mdown, mdtext, mdtxt, mdwn, mht, mhtml, mkd, mkdn, odt, rmd. This update brings us in alignment with Azure Document Translation capabilities and unlocks new scenarios, such as .xlf support, which enables seamless translation of eLearning and localization content exported from many industry tools.
We are thrilled to announce a powerful new feature that allows tenant admins to select an existing SharePoint Online (SPO) site and backfill OCR for documents already present in the library. This means you no longer need to move all your documents to a new site to ensure they are OCRed and protected. We plan to release a private preview at end of May, if you would like to enable this feature please reach out the feature team and we will enable the feature on your tenant. Only files without OCR will be processed, ensuring efficient use of resources and preventing double charges for unchanged documents. This update streamlines your workflow, making it easier to manage and protect your documents.

When you select an item in OneDrive on the Web, the Copilot button appears, offering a range of actions you can perform on that item. The same feature and actions are coming to document library views in SharePoint and Teams.
OneDrive for the web and SharePoint Online can display a table of contents if it’s already in your PDF. You can select the line item in the table of contents to jump directly to the location of that item in the page.
Use SharePoint agents seamlessly without navigating to the SharePoint site. With this new feature, you can quickly return to your most recently used SharePoint agents directly in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
Introducing native forms within SharePoint Document Libraries to streamline document collection. Users can create custom forms directly in libraries for seamless file uploads and metadata submission. Forms can be shared as links within the organization, facilitating document collection without additional access. This integration enhances productivity by simplifying workflows and improving user experience.
SharePoint page analytics will add enhanced reporting capabilities including long-term data, distribution channel filtering, and reactions and promotions, data exports.
SharePoint Online Tenant Administrators can now allow script sources for modern pages in SharePoint sites. This is particularly useful in scenarios where modern pages have custom code that load scripts (e.g. TypeScript code) from external sources like CDN. SharePoint will now report to administrators where are loaded from sources that have not been allowed giving administrators a way to identify those sources and take actions. Tenant Administrators can also enforce browsers to only load scripts from allowed sources. This behavior can be enabled using SharePoint Online Management Shell.
OneDrive for Web now lets you reduce PDF file size with compress feature. You can choose from three different compression levels that best fit your needs.
Admins can manage SharePoint agents as shared agents in the Agents page of the Microsoft 365 admin center. They will be able to block/unblock agents directly from Agent inventory.

Design Ideas now provides formatting suggestions for the quick links webpart. This includes suggesting icons and images for a given link, as well as showing how the webpart would look with different card sizes, for single quick link webparts in a section.
When you add a blank flexible section to your page, you will now be able to open up the Design Ideas panel to get blank section suggestions just as you can for standard sections.
SharePoint Design ideas can now pull from your Org Asset images to use within design ideas. If available when performing image suggestion, the first 3 ideas will show suggestions with images from org assets, whereas the rest of the ideas will use stock images.
SharePoint agents' usage statistics would be aggregated across all SharePoint sites and available for the tenant admin persona.
Allow files from OneDrive to be added as a grounding source in the Sources tab when creating a custom agent. This would apply to agents created from both OneDrive and SharePoint.

AI citations analytics will help you track the usage of SP documents, news and pages through copilot and AI agents. You will be able to see how often a page or a file is referenced in a copilot response. You can also get insights into SharePoint site content getting referenced in copilot responses aggregated at the site level.
SharePoint OCR feature now extends support to Microsoft Office files. Previously, OCR was limited to PDFs and images but with this update, you can seamlessly extract and utilize text from any embedded images within any Microsoft Office files like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
We’re introducing modifications in the container type creation cmdlets. The New-SPOContainerType cmdlet will only create a new container type. We are introducing the Add-SPOContainerTypeBilling cmdlet to add billing profile to the new container type.
The update enables SharePoint Embedded Administrators (SPE Admins) to identify the different kind of containers (user, tenant, and group) and the principal owner associated with the container.
Enterprise Application Insights is a powerful report which helps SharePoint Administrators to discover all the SharePoint sites that are allowed access by third-party applications registered in your tenant. The report also provides details on the application's permission and requests count to help admins take further action to strengthen the security of the site. Information Barriers (IB) V2 brings new capabilities including larger segment scale support, multi-segment support, and flexible people discoverability etc. Existing IB v1 tenants require an upgrade to IB v2 to take advantage of these new capabilities. This roadmap item is intended only for all IB v1 customers. All other customers will get IB v2 capabilities when they enable IB in their tenants. IB v2 upgrade will be opt-in.
The reimagined hero web part will feature a carousel layout and a selection of new styles, creating an eye-catching and engaging experience at the top of the page.
When authoring pages, this will create the ability to choose heading level for webparts to help define the hierarchy of information on a page.
