OneDrive: Find your group sites faster with the new My Sites tab in OneDrive for iOS

The new My Sites tab in the OneDrive iOS app gives you one place to find every group-connected SharePoint site you own or belong to. Instead of relying on recent files or search, you can browse a complete list of your sites and jump straight to their default document libraries — right from your iPhone or iPad. It's especially handy when you don't remember a site's name, haven't opened it recently, or were just added as a member of a new site, so you spend less time hunting and more time working with your team's content.

OneDrive: Refreshed file browsing and filtering experience in OneDrive Web

OneDrive is making it easier to find and work with files across Microsoft 365. We're refreshing the filtering experience across OneDrive Web, updating existing filters in views like Home, Shared, People, Meetings, and Favorites to support multiple filters at once, and bringing those same filtering capabilities to folder-based experiences such as My files and shared folders. Users can also filter content by file type using both filter pills and the filter pane. We're also bringing the modern SharePoint document library experience to OneDrive Web, with an updated layout, improved navigation, and familiar file management capabilities. Together, these updates make it easier to browse, filter, and manage content, while providing a more seamless experience across OneDrive and SharePoint.

OneDrive: Refreshed Libraries View in OneDrive Web

We're replacing the existing More places experience in OneDrive Web with a refreshed Libraries view. Users can see more recently accessed libraries, navigate to default document libraries for Teams and favorite SharePoint sites, and use new filtering, sorting, and view options.

In developmentOneDrive

OneDrive: Document library views now available in OneDrive

Users can now work with SharePoint document library views directly from OneDrive. In addition to switching between existing views, users can create and manage views to customize how library content is organized and displayed. This helps teams surface the information that matters most while staying within the OneDrive experience.

In developmentOneDrive

OneDrive: Find document libraries in OneDrive search results

We’re making it easier for users to find document libraries directly from OneDrive search results. When users search in OneDrive, relevant SharePoint document libraries may appear alongside files and folders, helping users quickly get back to shared team content without needing to navigate across multiple sites.

SharePoint: Inline comments and notifications for Markdown files

We’re adding inline commenting support for Markdown files in OneDrive and SharePoint, making it easier for teams to review, discuss, and collaborate on Markdown content directly in Microsoft 365. Users will be able to leave comments on specific parts of a Markdown file and receive notifications when they are mentioned or when there is activity that needs their attention.

In developmentOneDriveSharePoint

OneDrive: Collaborate on Markdown files with co-authoring and autosave

We’re bringing co-authoring and autosave to Markdown files in OneDrive and SharePoint, making it easier for teams to collaborate on Markdown content directly in Microsoft 365. Multiple users will be able to edit the same Markdown file together in the web experience, with changes saved automatically, reducing the risk of lost work and removing the need to manually manage versions.

OneDrive: New Shortcuts folder option when adding shortcuts

OneDrive makes it easy to add shortcuts to the files and folders you use most. Now you can choose to keep those shortcuts neatly together in one place instead of mixed in with everything else. When you add a shortcut, you can send it to a dedicated "Shortcuts" folder rather than your OneDrive root. The folder is created automatically the first time you use it and is easy to spot, with a distinct color and building icon. The Shortcuts folder behaves like any other folder—move it, rename it, share it, or remove it whenever you like.

OneDrive: Sync Support for up to 1 million items on Windows

OneDrive Sync supports syncing up to 1 million items on Windows devices, helping teams manage large document libraries and shared content at scale without compromising access across devices. This preview requires the Insiders ring and that devices meet minimum hardware and configuration requirements. Devices that don't meet these requirements continue to sync at the existing 300,000-item supported limit with no disruption.

OneDrive: Improved finding and browsing document libraries on iPhone and iPad

OneDrive now makes it easier to find and access your SharePoint document libraries on your iPhone and iPad. Search for libraries by name, browse an updated Libraries view with recent and alphabetical sorting, and navigate directly to the site's default document library for ease of access. Whether you're on the go or working remotely, you can quickly locate and open organizational content that matters to you.

OneDrive: Improved Shared file experience on iPhone and iPad

The OneDrive Shared view on iPhone and iPad now features a streamlined two-tab layout. The "With you" tab shows files others have shared with you, while the "By you" tab displays files you've shared. OneDrive and SharePoint will use Microsoft Entra B2B as the invitation and authentication method for external users, replacing the legacy SharePoint One Time Passcode (SPO OTP) experience. External sharing will automatically create B2B guest accounts in your directory, delivering consistent external collaboration across Microsoft 365, stronger guest identity management, and modern security aligned with Microsoft Entra standards.

OneDrive: Improved max path error experience on desktop

OneDrive desktop sync users now get clearer, more actionable guidance when file paths exceed the supported 520-character limit. The updated experience shows exactly how many characters a path is over the limit and offers a guided flow to rename or move the affected items so they can sync.

OneDrive: Set a custom name for the OneDrive sync folder

IT admins can now customize the local OneDrive sync root folder name on users' Windows computers. By default, the folder is named "OneDrive - {organization name}," which can consume valuable path length for deeply nested files and folders. With this new policy, admins can set a shorter, organization-specific folder name — reducing path length issues and giving users a cleaner file system experience.

Administrators can now set organization-wide policies to automatically expire "People in your organization" sharing links after a specified period. This helps organizations maintain tighter control over internal content sharing by ensuring links don't remain active indefinitely. Configure expiration timeframes that align with your organization's data governance requirements—whether that's 30 days, 90 days, or a custom period.

OneDrive: Prompt for permitted users to sign in to OneDrive app with personal Microsoft account

Users have long been able to use personal Microsoft accounts with the OneDrive app on corporate Windows devices—unless restricted by admin policy. This new feature introduces a prompt only when a personal account is already signed in on the device, encouraging users to also sign in to the OneDrive app with that account. Administrators who have already restricted personal accounts on corporate devices can continue to manage this as before. Organizations that have already disabled personal OneDrive accounts on corporate devices with the DisablePersonalSync policy will not see this prompt. Administrators can also suppress it using the DisableNewAccountDetection policy. More information on configuring policies can be found here:
