We're enhancing the Exchange Online Message Recall feature to add support for cross-tenant recalls. Today, you can recall messages only within your organization. Cross-tenant recall will let you recall messages sent to other organizations that add your tenant to their recall allow list.
We are introducing new Power Automate integration capabilities for forms in SharePoint, enabling customers to create automated workflows based on responses collected using list forms, file upload forms, and document generation forms. With this update, a new trigger and action are now available in Power Automate: Trigger: When a form is submitted This operation triggers a flow when a list form, document generation form, or file upload form is submitted. Customers can use this trigger to initiate automated workflows such as approvals, notifications, or routing based on form submission events. Action: Get form metadata This action retrieves the metadata of a form, which includes the form ID, title, link, form type, output format, and the form questions used to collect information. This enables Power Automate flows to dynamically read form schema before executing downstream automation logic. Disclaimer: Document generation forms are part of AI in SharePoint Public Preview. Access to DocGen Forms capabilities may be limited to customers enrolled in the preview program. List forms and file upload forms are not part of the AI in SharePoint preview.
Today, Copilot can show up to 25 meeting results, which can limit visibility in larger calendars. We’re expanding this limit so you can see more relevant meetings at once making it easier to find, review, and act on the full context you need.
Recipient groups in eSignature allow a recipient slot to be assigned to multiple people, such that any one of those people can fulfil the signing requirement on behalf of the group.
Copilot has been enhanced to interpret and ground responses using images embedded in files such as Word documents (.docx), PowerPoint presentations (.pptx), and PDFs. The Files companion app, part of the Microsoft 365 companion apps suite on the Windows taskbar, now surfaces AI-powered Copilot file prompts for Copilot Chat users. Previously available only to Microsoft 365 Copilot licensees, this update extends contextual file prompts to Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat users, enabling them to discover and interact with relevant files through intelligent suggestions. Users can find their most relevant files faster and take action on them directly from the Files app.
Copilot Notebooks enables users to generate PowerPoint presentations directly from the content and references collected in a notebook. Using the notebook’s curated context, Copilot creates a structured, editable slide deck that users can open and refine in PowerPoint, helping turn research, notes, and insights into shareable presentations more quickly.

New improvements are coming to the rollout wave functionality for Cloud Update. These enhancements will allow organizations to continue leveraging Microsoft Entra ID groups to set up rollout waves, with increased flexibility to configure more than the current limit of three waves. Additionally, admins will be able to assign custom delays between each wave, streamlining phased deployments and offering greater control over update distribution.
Use device selection criteria in Cloud Update to assign profiles using Microsoft Entra ID groups and streamline the onboarding process. Admins can combine channel and profile assignment in a single step, making it easier to move devices between update channels and maintain consistent update management across the organization.
Use enhanced error reporting in Cloud Update for Microsoft 365 Apps updates to access clear, descriptive error messages that help you easily identify why an update did not complete successfully. Admins can review comprehensive insights across all Cloud Update-managed devices and drill down into individual devices for detailed information. This improved feature expands on the existing upgrade progress insights by grouping issues according to error codes and providing straightforward descriptions. These advancements enable admins to diagnose problems more efficiently, reduce support escalations, and take decisive corrective actions to boost monthly compliance rates.
Give users a fast, built‑in way to capture screenshots and include them in Copilot prompts, helping them communicate visual context more easily and receive more accurate, actionable assistance.
This update introduces a co-branding experience in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app that helps organizations present an admin approved visual identifier directly within the Chat screen. Specifically, the experience enables administrators to leverage the organization-supported logo already managed in the Microsoft Admin Center theming settings and display it in the footer of the Chat screen, paired with a fixed label: “Approved by”.
This feature introduces admin controls for managing Anthropic as a model provider for specific users and groups in the tenant.
The Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention policy to restrict Microsoft 365 Copilot processing sensitive files in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will now apply regardless of file storage location.
Allows the administrator of an Exchange Online tenant to change the organizer of an existing meeting or meeting series via a PowerShell cmdlet. This can be used, for example, to maintain continuity and history of a long-running meeting series in cases where the meeting organizer has a new role, is on leave, or during the offboarding process. Once the meeting is transferred, the new organizer will be able to maintain all properties of the event including meeting time and recurrence, attendees, and description. Meeting attendees within the Exchange Online tenant will not need to re-RSVP and the existing event on their calendar will be silently updated with the new meeting organizer information. A subsequent feature will enable users to to change the organizer via Modern Calendar in OWA, New Outlook, and Teams. For user-initiated transfers the new organizer must accept the meeting before the transfer completes.
We are enhancing the room booking experience in the new calendar experience across Outlook for Windows, Outlook for the web, and Teams by introducing a map view within Places Finder. This update replaces the existing side panel with a full screen, easier to use interface that helps people quickly find and book the right space.
Buildings, rooms and desks that are added to the Places directory will have new profile cards, accessible from Copilot Chat and across other Microsoft 365 entry points.

Now users can close a voice session on Windows by simply saying bye or goodbye when they want to close voice session. This, paired with "Hey Copilot" wake word, provides them with complete hands-free experience for voice in Microsoft 365 Copilot on Windows devices.
People Skills is releasing two updates to give you more control over how others see your skills profile and ease of access for skill profile management. With these updates, you can easily control the order in which the skills you confirm are displayed to others in your profile card. Additionally, you'll find a new deep link directly to skill profile editing from the Skills component on the profile card. These updates will begin rollout to customers in November and are expected to be available to all People Skills customers by December.
We are introducing a dynamic filtering experience in Microsoft 365 Copilot search that empowers users to refine their results more precisely by leveraging data source-specific filters in the right rail. When a user selects a data source from the right rail, such as Outlook, SharePoint, Jira, or Copilot Chats, the interface dynamically presents a tailored set of filters specific to that source. These refiners allow users to narrow down results based on attributes unique to the selected data source, such as item type, status, or semantic labels.
Use rollback by group to selectively revert updates for specific device or user groups managed by cloud update. This feature helps recover devices to a previous version of Microsoft 365 Apps in the event an issue occurs following an update. Updates can then be resumed from the portal or with the next release of Monthly Enterprise Channel. It works for organizations of any size and delivers a quick and efficient recovery method.

Documents that have been electronically signed will now be automatically recognized and tagged as “Signed” upon upload to SharePoint. This enhancement also applies retroactively as existing e-signed files will be updated with the appropriate tags. To give users more visibility and control, we’re introducing two optional metadata columns for document libraries: Electronically Signed – Indicates whether a document has been eSigned. Signature Provider – Displays the service used for the eSignature. This feature is available exclusively to tenants with eSignature enabled, helping streamline compliance tracking and document management.

We're simplifying how organizations grant applications permission to send email on behalf of mailboxes. Today, customers must manually assign permissions to each individual mailbox using PowerShell, which is time-consuming and inefficient. With this new capability, admins can assign the SMTP.SendAsApp role to an app through App Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), enabling group-based or scoped access to mailboxes. This eliminates the need for per-mailbox configuration and streamlines onboarding for SMTP clients using OAuth. It’s a scalable, secure, and modern approach to managing mailbox access for applications.
New settings in Trust Center will allow users to restrict or allow file opens using FTP/HTTP protocols and fallback to FrontPage Remote Procedure Call (FPRPC) protocol.
M365 Archive will introduce new search capabilities that allow end-users to easily identify archived content. This feature aims to improve productivity by making archived data searchable by end users so they can identify which site needs to be reactivated.
We are bringing Microsoft 365 Backup Service capabilities to GCC. Microsoft 365 Backup is a product offering spanning across the OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange Online services that provides customers with a consistent, cross product solution, to recover their M365 data from cataclysmic events such as: at scale ransomware attacks, or malicious/accidental data deletion/corruption by end users.
Traditionally, Exchange has relied solely on the file extension (e.g., .docx, .pdf) to identify the type of an attachment. However, this approach can be bypassed if a file is renamed with a misleading extension. To address this, we’re enhancing our detection logic to go beyond just the visible file extension. With this update, even if a file’s extension is altered, Exchange will evaluate the actual content of the file to determine its true type. This ensures that policies based on file type—such as “File extension is…”—remain effective and secure, even in cases of renamed or disguised attachments. This improvement provides customers with a more robust and reliable way to enforce compliance and security rules around file sharing.

Often you may want to transition a conversation from an email thread to a meeting. Copilot helps you do this by being able to start scheduling right from the email conversation. It saves you time and effort by generating a meeting invite that's ready for you to review and send. When you click on "Schedule with Copilot" a meeting form will appear with a Copilot generated meeting title, agenda, and conversation summary as well as a pre-filled attendee list from the email thread and an attachment of the original email thread. This feature will be available in the new Outlook for Windows, web, Mac, and mobile. #newoutlookforwindows

Multi-Geo In-Region Routing (IRR) enables customers to control the routing of inbound emails. Using IRR, customers can set the geo-region that inbound mail should be routed to for specific Accepted Domains.
Google Groups to M365 Modern Groups Migration Service is a 1st party service for migrating Google groups with the M365 Admin center as a new feature, so that Google compete customers moving to M365 would have the ability to automatically create the groups, its members, member conversations and all permissions to M365 Groups without the need to recreate the groups which is the only solution for customers moving from Google.
Google to Entra Identity Sync service is a cloud-2-cloud user Identity onboarding and one way synchronization tool from Google workspace to Entra ID. This will be available as part of the M365 Admin center for Google compete customers moving into M365 to create the identities in M365 farm and move Drive and Mail content into Onedrive and Exchange online
Ability to permanently delete, after appropriate grace period, protection units from the backups. A protection unit is defined as a OneDrive Account, SharePoint site, or Exchange Online shared or user mailbox being protected in the Backup tool.
Set of pre-defined administrators can be configured to receive email notifications for any potentially damaging changes to the backup settings or actions taken to ensure proper oversight of the tool in the organization.
Use a dedicated Backup Administrator role to manage your M365 Backup administration tasks.
Perform file-level browse/search and then restore using Microsoft 365 Backup. With this enhancement you will be able to browse for files across in a site from available daily restore points and apply filters to narrow results, restore at the original location by overwriting existing content or to a new place by creating a copy of the content.
Automatically backup all Exchange or OneDrive users and/or SharePoint sites in the tenant and have the tool automatically add new users/sites to the backup policy.
Information Barriers (IB) V2 brings new capabilities including larger segment scale support, multi-segment support, and flexible people discoverability etc. Existing IB v1 tenants require an upgrade to IB v2 to take advantage of these new capabilities. This roadmap item is intended only for all IB v1 customers. All other customers will get IB v2 capabilities when they enable IB in their tenants. IB v2 upgrade will be opt-in.
